I'm considering a launching an informal summer 2022 Zoom course on how to analyze popular music.
The target audience would be (a) those who want to learn the basics of music theory, and (b) those who teach music theory. The former will become acquainted with the elements of music theory through highly interactive analysis of contemporary pop music; the latter will observe how popular music can be used to supplement the traditional classical music theory curriculum.
The survey below is designed to get a feel for how many people would be interested in such a course, and to what extent. Please fill out honestly and to the best of your ability, and submit. If/how such a course materializes will be in part determined by the responses to this survey.
